Telecommunication author and wireless/broadband journalist Mark Long is an internationally recognised expert in the field of electronic communications. Over the past twenty-five years he has worked on a contract basis for a wide variety of private corporations, government agencies and educational institutions. His consulting work has included in-depth research, feasability study management, and the production of analytical reports that explored the application of communication technologies to solving unique problems. The author continues to be available for consulting on a contract basis today.

During the past two decades, Mark Long has personally conducted satellite TV technology workshops and training sessions for more than two thousand individuals at trade conferences, universities and private corporations located on three continents. In addition, the author organized and hosted the first two Pan-Asian conferences that were devoted to covering digital satellite TV technology, which were held in Thailand during 1993 and 1994.

Mark Long is the creator and author of  successful business-to-business (B2B) publications targeted at the global telecommunication industry. His last major work was published in 1999 by Reed Business Information subsidiary Butterworth-Heinemann. In addition, Mr. Long has authored two CD-ROM reference discs for the international satellite technology community.
